Interviews, one of the most dreadful parts of an application process!
So how can you ensure you nail that next job/internship interview...
15 Interview tips:
Always, always, always prepare for an interview
Dress professionally, a nice blazer and pants, and a bright/unique top to be more memorable
There will always be the generic questions, prepare for them (tell us about yourself, what do you know about this role, what are your strengths/weaknesses)
Always have real-life examples (speak from other work experience you have had or hobbies you may do)
Highlight key skills in your examples (collaboration, organisation, communication)
Be yourself, not a robot. They want to work with someone they can get along well with and is easy to work with
Include something niche in your “tell me about yourself” question, such as a sport, hobby, travel plans, etc., to differentiate yourself from the other candidates.
Do some research on the company and team you have applied for; you can anticipate potential specific questions about the role or company that may arise
Show confidence through body language (posture, eye contact and hand placement)
Always smile
Shake their hands, show initiative
Again! Be yourself, don’t give them the answer you think they want to hear, be honest (not too honest of course) but being fake is obvious
Show interest so always have questions prepared, some about the role itself and expectations of the role
Bring a notebook and take notes during your Q&A
Use their names when saying goodbye “Thank you for your time [name]”

Good luck with your next interview!
